Windshield Streaks at Night? Fix Haze, Smear, and Wiper Streaking in 10 Minutes
Share
If your windshield smears or streaks, especially at night, follow this quick checklist: glass haze removal, wiper fixes, and interior fog prevention.
Night glare and streaks usually come from film buildup (inside or outside glass), worn wipers, or dirty washer system. Here’s a simple checklist.
Step 1: Clean the inside glass properly
- Interior glass collects invisible film from plastics and vents. Use:
- Microfiber towel (dedicated for glass)
- Glass-safe cleaner
Wipe in a cross pattern so you can see missed spots.
Step 2: Decontaminate the outside glass
Road grime causes “smear.” Clean thoroughly, then wipe dry with a second microfiber towel.
Step 3: Fix wiper streaks
- Clean wiper blades (wipe the rubber)
- If rubber is cracked/hard → replace
- Make sure windshield washer nozzles spray evenly
Step 4: Reduce fog
Keep glass clean and run A/C briefly to reduce moisture.
